About Me
Originally from Gloucestershire, I joined the Royal Navy upon leaving school, turning down an offer to read Law from Oxford University to do so. I attended Britannia Royal Naval College for training and served aboard HMS Bulwark. Due to an eye condition I was forced to leave the service, at which point I embarked on my educational development.
I studied part-time with the Open University prior to reading International Relations at Plymouth University, specialising in Maritime Security. During this period I spent time working at the British Embassy to Turkey in Ankara, and also set up the first of three companies. Beginning in the cigar trade, I have since set-up Siparium Entertainment and Siparium Sporting. The latter utilising knowledge and experience gained whilst studying at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester.
I hold a WSET Level 3 Award in Wines & Spirits.
A couple of other things about me: I used to play and referee rugby, I'm a keen skier and sailor, I enjoy walking (even on Dartmoor), and I like reading, real ale and whisky.
